Yesterday it rained, and rained, and rained some more.  I went out to Carman for Jason and Carolyn's wedding rehearsal and then went to check out the reception site.  Mud everywhere!  What we needed was a miracle.  We all went to bed praying for sunshine and a breeze to dry up that yard, lickety split.  What we got was perfection.  Not too hot, not too cold, not a rain cloud in sight and just the right amount of wind.  Sure there were still a few puddles, but I didn't hear anyone complaining!
I had a great day, and now I plan on having a great sleep!

Here's Carolyn with her M.O.H and sister Angela, both gorgeous I might add.

Wow what a night!  I'm so glad we didn't let a few dark clouds scare us away from our photo shoot tonight!  Here's a peek from my evening with Holly and Heidi, more to come in a week or two.

I am in love with this image, like tiger tiger ice cream love!

A few weeks ago my niece Amber and I decided we should go out and take some photos.  She seems to love photography almost as much as I do!  I was excited for the chance to just go out and photograph, without a client or the pressure of being awesome!  We threw around some ideas of what we would photograph... nature, objects, people... and Amber decided she'd like to have some practice with portraits.  She invited her friend Katlyn to be our model.  Katlyn was a natural!  With little guidance, she posed like she's been watching America's Next Top Model her whole life.

Thanks girls for a fun evening!  I enjoyed photographing "just for fun", and love the images I walked away with.  Hope I was able to teach you a thing or two Amber.  You already have a natural gift at composition, you are sure to be an expert before you even graduate!

Here's Amber getting her shot... I can't believe I didn't get any pictures of her NOT hiding behind a camera!

Hi Everyone...

Thanks to all of you who have helped make this a crazy successful summer so far.  It's been a whirlwind, but in the best way possible.  July is winding down, and the insanity that is August is about to begin.  Thank you to all of you who booked in advance!  Unfortunately I am absolutely booked SOLID for August.  Well, fortunately for me, unfortunately for all the awesome people I won't have time for.  September is also booking up quite quickly, but there is still a bit of room there.  I will be gone for part of September for my first out of province wedding in Alberta, and a mentor session with one of my photo hero's in Seattle.  I can't wait for all the excitement in fall, but August will be so great that it will go by quickly!  Book your fall family sessions now (for those Christmas cards!) before it's too late!

Thanks again to all of my super awesome clients!  I've been having a great summer with you all!!

July 22, 2009 // Wedding
Nathan and Ang met at Folkfest.  What better a place for two people to meet than surrounded by  drum beats and the notes of an intense mixture of music floating up into the beautiful Manitoban summer air?  They were introduced by Nathan's cousin, who also happened to be a friend to Ang.  Everyone watched as the two of them chatted away, and realized there just may be something there.

Their shared love of music was evident the evening of their wedding.  An ipod filled with music the couple had hand picked, many artists they had seen live at Folkfest and other venues, played as Nathan and Ang visited with friends and family.  Their wedding was small, but only in numbers.  Nathan and Ang chose an intimate gathering of their closest family and friends to celebrate this day that would mark the beginning of the rest of their lives together.  Their ceremony was led by Nathan's father, adding to the very close, personal feel of the night.  The couple held hands tightly as he spoke the words that would make them man and wife.
