I met Anna few years back when we worked together.  I was waitressing full time, back when photography to me was rolls and rolls of film and dreams of being the next photographer for National Geographic.  Anna was my go to girl for an after work dance party in the banquet room followed by apple pie and ice cream.  Fun times!  Anna's the kind of girl you just can't help but love.  She's got such a fun fiery personality.  She's gorgeous inside and out!!!  We don't cross paths often these days, so I was more than thrilled when she contacted me to photograph her wedding.  She was super busy with school over the winter, so we hadn't finalized any details but I wasn't worried about it.  Turns out she was the one that should have been worried!  I didn't expect to be 8+ months pregnant for her upcoming late October wedding.  As soon as I got the wonderful news, I had to break the news to her.  As excited as I obviously was to be pregnant, I was so disappointed that I wouldn't be able to be Anna's photographer.  Anna graciously asked me if I would still capture she and James for their engagement photos and of course I was honored!  We had such a fun time.  We headed out to Anna's parents home in the country and explored the yard.  I'd have to say my favorite part was our visit with the sheep!!!!

Sorry Anna, I just had to blog this one!  This is Anna freaking out over the wood ticks in the grass.... a natural reaction for most people, but I found it so funny that a girl that can snuggle sheep and just graduated as a animal health technician is afraid of something as teeny tiny as a tick!

I met up with Jason and Judy on a VERY windy day just over a week ago.  We had rescheduled our photos once already, and decided to go on, wind or no wind.  Well, it was a bit of a struggle, and I was sooo thankful that Judy doesn't have long flowy hair or it would have been twice as difficult.  The wind would NOT let up, but we had fun anyway!  Judy and Jason are so laid back, I can't wait for their stress free wedding day!!!  We are going to have so much fun!!!

March 22, 2010 // Engagement
I met up with Wayne and Carilee back in January to discuss their June wedding.  When it came time to schedule their engagement session we all had pretty busy schedules to work around.  Carilee had a girls trip to Vegas, Wayne had a guys trip to volunteer in Mexico, and I had my three week trip to Nicaragua/Costa Rica.  Throw in there every day life and, well, we didn't have it easy!  We really wanted to capture some winter wonderland images, but by the time we found a date that worked for everyone, paired with the fact that Spring came early, well, we didn't stand a chance!  Something to be thankful for however, with our lack of snow, was the lack of cold!  We had a fabulously mild Sunday afternoon to work with, so I can't complain.  We also made the most of what mother nature gave us and had lots of fun running around outside and ended our session with some puddle jumping.  I don't know what I was thinking NOT wearing my own rubber boots, especially since I'm only behind the camera!  I got home that afternoon with soggy socks and lots of fun images!

Here's Wayne and Carilee, and HERE is there slideshow!

March 1, 2010 // Engagement
You may all recognize Sonya from my blog, she's graced these pages on three separate occasions, here, here, and here.  She is Dwayne's cousins daughter, and I am lucky to also call her my friend.   John and Sonya began dating shortly before Dwayne and I did, about five years ago.  Sonya's been planning her wedding like every girl does, long before there was any proposal.  As my 2010 wedding season continued to get busier and busier, Sonya and I impatiently waited for John to propose.  She just knew it must be coming soon!!!  I didn't want to miss this wedding, wether I was photographing it or there as a guest, I would have been SO disappointed if I couldn't attend.  The call came from Sonya's mom Irene one day shortly after New Years.  Sonya was ENGAGED!!!!  ...and let the planning begin!  I am so honored they have chosen me to be their wedding photographer!

What can I say?!?!?  Yesterday Sonya, John and I went out to capture their engagement photos.  We lucked out, to say the least, and were blessed with gorgeous frosty trees, mild temperatures, and a bright sunny day.  We had such a fun time, I just can't wait to photograph this gorgeous couple on their wedding day!
