A few weeks ago my niece Amber and I decided we should go out and take some photos. She seems to love photography almost as much as I do! I was excited for the chance to just go out and photograph, without a client or the pressure of being awesome! We threw around some ideas of what we would photograph... nature, objects, people... and Amber decided she'd like to have some practice with portraits. She invited her friend Katlyn to be our model. Katlyn was a natural! With little guidance, she posed like she's been watching America's Next Top Model her whole life.

Thanks girls for a fun evening! I enjoyed photographing "just for fun", and love the images I walked away with. Hope I was able to teach you a thing or two Amber. You already have a natural gift at composition, you are sure to be an expert before you even graduate!
Here's some pics of Katlyn, and a slideshow b/c they are all just too darn cute to leave any of them out!

Here's Amber getting her shot... I can't believe I didn't get any pictures of her NOT hiding behind a camera!

I so love this spot!

Brandon's mom Irene contacted me to do some grad photos of Brandon around their yard. I don't think he was too thrilled about more photos, after having some that day with another photographer, Janet Haslem, in her studio, but he went along with it anyway. I had a fun time with him and the rest of the family. They apologized for their craziness at the end of it, they must have forgotten my husband is one of them! I'm used to it!

Brandon will go on to school in the fall for diesel mechanics, and further more on to great things in life. Dwayne will miss having him to go snowmobiling with, but at least his dad Vern will still have Dwayne to keep him company out on the trails. His mom Irene can cook for Dwayne too... if she needs someone to mother, 'cause I'm sure not very good at it!!
Congrats Brandon, and best of luck in school and your life ahead!

I was planning on posting more photos, but my website doesn't seem to like me tonight, so you'll have to check out the slideshow!

Summer has been so good to me, and I have been extremely busy. I'm loving it! I have much to share with you all in the next week or two. A few family shoots, and a couple weddings will be coming up on the blog soon. Stay posted, and thanks for checking in!

Here's a quick one from tonight. I had a shoot with the Hiebert family this evening. The rain clouds loomed overhead, and we had a few drops come down, but not enough to scare us away. I had fun guys, and can't wait to go through the rest. I normally don't post my absolute favorites as the sneak peek, but I couldn't help it, I love this shot!

I had so much fun with the photos from our Road Trip with Sonya and Joelle, I decided to use them for a sample book. Here's the results! Books can be added to any photo session as a beautiful way to keep your images in one place.

Some friendships have the capabilities of always picking up where they left off. I am blessed with many long distance friendships, and I am NOT a phone person. A true friend to me is someone who I can connect with time and time again, despite of this. Amy and Beth are two such people. I had a fun shoot with them in Saskatoon back in May, just because. It was a gorgeous night, and a great chance to catch up. Ending the evening with beer and wings wasn't bad either! Thanks Amy and Beth for all the laughs, and for following me around the questionable back alleys. You were both awesome!
